Why athletes need resistance training?

Positively effects multiple aspects of the health and performance for athletes. Training with weights enhance strength, power and muscular size and local muscle endurance.

It also improves skill related bio-motor abilities such as mobility, acceleration, speed and agility. More importantly, it significantly decreases the chance of injury.
